Whoa! 2nite, or rather tomorrow's morning's the France and England match, the highly anticipated and high tempo match of Group B of Euro04! Whoa!!! Go England! Win it! Although i betted on a draw between the two sides, i won't mind losing 5 bucks in exchange for an England win!
Yesterday's opening game between host country Portugal and unfancied Greece was a complete let-down... Credit to Greece for playing pretty constructive football, as they kept Figo and co at bay until Cristiano Ronaldo finally breached their goal in the 93rd minute, which was too late to avert the disaster as Greece was leading 2nil, thanks to a first half ( 7min ) strike from 20m by i-don't-know-his-name and ironically, a penalty given away by Ronaldo in the second half, the moment he came on as a substitute... His last minute goal could hardly redeem himself as Greece ran out as eventual 2-1 winners over the country on their own home soil... Well, it is a coincidence? The moment Greece scored the penalty, my big EURO2004 poster collapsed to the ground!!! Exact moment, exact split second! Whoa, this must be a sign from above ( if you are thinking it's a sign from Heaven, think twice... The exact reason, i think, why the poster fell was because of the aircon above it that was blowing cool air right into the poster, causing it to collapse ) Well, maybe it's a sign from my air-con to tell me not to back Portugal at all costs in EURO2004 because they are gonna be a flop...
Now, on to Spain, the 1-0 winners against a stubborn Russian side... Juan Carlos Valeron powered home in the 60min, which finally broke down the Russian resistance, who played with a lone striker... Thank my lucky stars, or else i would have lost 15 bucks on the first day of Euro04 if not for Spain... In the end, i won a TOTAL GRAND SUM OF 50cents... Very kok, but like what i said before, winning is better than losing... Hmmm... My dad favours Spain to win Euro04 and not the popular France... Maybe he's right... It's time for Spain to win something... Under-achievers for so long already, just like England...
Very sad... The so highly rated, the most publicized match, the talk of the kopitiam, the most anticipated match, France vs England, is not SHOWN ON CHANNEL 5!!! Mediacorp, are u blind or deaf or are you just a plain rotten piece of cabbage??? Go and eat shit in the toilet bowl can? Can u imagine how many England fans without SCV have their hearts broken by this tragedy??? ( Well, in actual fact, the only one i know is an England fan without cableTV is myself ) Sianz sia... Can't watch... My small TV can only see like 90%blurred images of the match, and i could hardly see the ball can... How to watch... How sad... In the end, i had to console myself by watching the match in the evening through by PS2 ( Are you hearing right ? ) Yah, PS2, my FIFA2004 soccer game... I let the computer play by itself, that is France and England match, i pressed everything in the settings, like line-up and everything, then let the computer play each other, that is CPU France vs CPU England... Then i just sit back and watch the match... It ended in 8 minutes... Actually, it's very exciting! It's almost like the real game! First, France took a 2-0 lead in 15 minutes, with Trezegut scoring in the 5min and Wiltord in the 14min... Wayne Rooney pulled one back before half-time in the 36min... In the second half, Robert Pires dribbles past 3 defenders and scored in the 48minute... Then came Paul Scholes, who scored in the 58min and 77min to restore parity! Woo! As the tie was evenly balanced at 3-3, Thierry Henry got tripped and fouled at the edge of the penalty box, by whom i forgot... Wah, very exciting... Henry sent his penalty right into the top right hand corner, only to be saved by David James!!! I am not kidding! It was a superb save!!! Marvellous! In the end, the scoreline was 3-3! Well, to me, France and England match has ended... I did the same for Switzerland vs Croatia... Croatia won 2-0, with both strikes coming each in both halves... Wah, if both matches are really like what my PS2 predicted, i will win money since i betted on England draw and a Croatia win... Wooh... Let's hope it really is, but i will still prefer my England to win...
Just finished watching Bend It Like Beckham on Ch5... Very nice and funny show... The actress looked like Miss Banana from NY... haha... Now, i am damn sianz... No soccer to watch and can't get to sleep... It's a horrid feeling......
