Yeah! It's Friday! Weekends!
Juz updated my bank book and it seems that the GST credits have already been credited! That would keep at least 1.5 million Singaporeans' mouths shut for good! I suppose a minority (the slightly demented ones) would actually call to ask why they receive their money earlier than the date given. Maybe i would scream "Congratulations!" into the phone. Throw in a party pooper or two and these demented souls would momentarily feel rich. For now. Wait till the GST increase really kicks in. I wonder how many would feel broke. And they will still blindly vote for a particular party. Coz the latter gave them a moment of satisfaction of feeling rich. Wait, this is starting to sound like an orgasm.
Had this strange caller yesterday who was enquiring about the GST. Never mind that he was starting to sound weird, but he ended the call with "Have a nice day! Happy New Year!" and giggles. That sounds kinda perverse, especially with that giggles part. There was another who sounded like he needed counselling, and i transformed (at least for that call) from a call operator to a counsellor / psychiatrist. I could have charged him for that, but he seemed kinda desperate, so i decided to lend him a listening ear.
Mbr : Sorry, can u give me some advice on something personal?
Me : Yep, sure.
Mbr : U know, i had this problem. I lack enthusiasm. Everyday i dun feel like doing anything. I lack strength u know?
Me : Okie, maybe you should take a break.
Mbr : When i was young, my neighbours performed some black magic on me and took something away from my brain. And then they kept laughing at me. I went to India to look for the priests' help but it couldn't be cured.
Me : Sir, i think u need professional help. Like counsellors?
Mbr : Yar, i have, but it's very expensive! $220 u know?
Me : Well, if it makes u feel better, then the money will be well spent isn't it?
~continues toking about his head being robbed of "something"
Me : Sir, perhaps u should open up more, talk more and you would be able to overcome this problem.
~ continues his black magic thingy again
Me : Anything else regarding the GST?
Mbr : Thank you so much for listening. Bye.
Shit. I could have charged him $220.
Singaporeans are hardly contented people. At least some people. When they received something, they tend to demand more. And they seemed to think that they have the right to it. And sadly, these people are the educated ones. At least the older aunties uncles have basic courtesy. Especially Malay aunties, they are really polite. The worst are..... No prizes for guessing who... U would have to be an idiot not to figure it out.
Composed a Jap song yesterday to pass time in the office...
Yuki ga mada futte iru (The snow is still falling)
Koko ni anata wa hitori tatte mitai yo (I would still want to see you standing here)
Omae wa sou tokutei (You're so special)
Hi ga yuki no ushiro ni tsuzuite ataru (The sun still shines beyond the snow)
Bridge:
Atsumatte fukumiwarai (As i approached, you smiled)
Sekai no ue tatta futari ni iru (There's only 2 of us on top of the world)
Chorus:
Haru to natsu owatte kara (After spring and summer is over)
Aki to fuyu mada matte iru (I will still be waiting for you in autumn and winter)
Itsumo ureshikute chigiru (Promise me that you would always be happy)
Shinjitte (Believe in it)
Kita to minami sagashite kara
Higashi to nishi itsumodemo koko ni iru (I will always be here for you)
Sekai de hitori (There's only one You in the world)
Ai shitteru kokoro kara (I will love you with all my heart)
Yuki ga yameta (The snow has stopped)
Demo issho ni tsuzuite arukitai yo (But we continue walking together)
Kirei na sakura no ki
Kimi wa mawari ni iru (All around you are beautiful cherry trees)
Totemo subarashii (It was wonderful)
Bridge
Chrous
Sore wa boku no yume (That's my dream)
All right. Back to work. I have been skiving.

I am starting to get really bored. The calls i have been receiving nowadays have all been so similiar that i wish i had a telephone recorded message that i could play to them. Can't really blame these people though. The god-damn media is always either misleading people or providing insufficient information. Haiz...
Recently there's been a scam whereby a lady is posing herself as a CPF staff and calling people up to do fund transfer. Damn it. Hope she's caught. This is unwanted trouble. She should be shot. Imagine she calls 10000 people, that would mean an additional 10000 calls for us to handle! Some people were actually foolish enough to believe the cheat. Guess these r the people who wanted their money fast. And i suppose these r some of the impatient and rude people who pestered us in getting their GST credits immediately. I wonder whether to sympathize with them or to tell them "U deserve it since u r so adamant in wanting ur money IMMEDIATELY."
Well, at least there's badminton next week... Something i can look forward to.
I met one of my Pri sch kids yesterday. Although i can't recognise him(i could remember the naughty ones. The good ones are always forgotten... Haha...) , i suppose i took his class before ba... I was walking halfway when i heard, "Mr Tay!!!" And to be polite, i waved back and smiled. It was heartening to know that the kids still remember me... Haha... I wonder how my naughty class is doing...
I am in a mood of wanting to do nothing. Haiz. This is not a good sign. I think i need a break soon. I shall take leave next thursday so that i can settle my SMU stuff and take a well-deserved break.
SLEEP!
Boku wa omae ni nanika o agete kara, wasureru koto ga dekimasu. Jibun ga wakararenai.
ps. It's my 300th post! The first one to read and tag me gets $1000000000000.

Drats... Woke up with a headache this morning... Thank goodness it's better now or else i have to suffer for the rest of the day, not to mention tuition with the problem kid. Just thinking of him gives me a splitting headache. Every tuition session, the first thing he ask is "Can 1 hour?" of which i replied with a firm "no". And then he will start whining, and the process takes 10 minutes. Another 10 minutes to coax him to get his stationery and to start writing. He's indeed a challenge.
Guess i din sleep too well last night... I remembered waking up at around 4 or 5 am after a dream whereby i was working at Waraku and trying to set a donburi. And i can't find the suiji soup (it ran out yesterday at night). And i woke up trying to find a suiji soup around my bed, frantically reaching my hands out to find one. I think i am crazy. Hahar. Coz when i came to my senses, i suddenly feel like drinking it. Thank god i din pee on my bed.
Anyway, Daena san, omedetoo gozaimasu! Ur Real Madrid won the Spanish league title after a 4-yr drought! See, i told you Beckham is zai. Without him, Real wouldn't have won it. Hope to c u soon! Next month yeah?
Okie, Back to comics. Boredom can be such a deadly killer.

It's a Monday again... Sky's a little gloomy, not exactly the kind of day i would have want to start my new week with...
Restaurant was pretty busy yesterday, with net sales of around 14K! And Pauline was there with her family and her friend's family... Gave the kids some toys and i mistook one of her friend's kids as a girl!!! That boy really looked like a girl eh, so i gave her, i mean him a make-up set. I think the mum wasn't exactly happy and said, "sorry, but HE's a boy." Oops. Well, a boy being mistaken as a girl is definitely better than a girl being mistaken as a boy! That would have serious repercussions for the poor girl when she grows up. I gave them free ice-cream although it doesn't look very nice coz i made them myself... Haha... 10% discount somemore! I hope Pauline "hui zuo ren"... Next time no 10.30am timeslot for me... Hehe...
Haiz... My mind is completely empty now.

OMG. It's really boring. We are trying to think of erm "creative" ideas to entertain ourselves, but our attempts have come to nought. Haiz.
Well, at least there's badminton to look forward to tonight! Haven't played it since i left Montfort. I missed the school team kids man... They are so energetic! Okay, maybe it's becoz i am old and they are young...
Kelvin is playing Cai Quan now.
Ah Chuan is planning a raid on a rival gang.
Vien is stoning.
Glenda must be drinking grass-jelly.
Sam and YanShan are talking.
Yongshen surfing net.
Dhana is thinking of his diet.
I am blogging.
No one is working. :)

I saw another ugly side of the civil service today... Yes, the motive was to save costs, but it wasn't entirely ethical. Poor resource management has been a plague for many government agencies, and this recent episode just shows how inept they are in handling their staff.
Seriously, if one is to wake up at 6 plus in the morning, report to work at 8am before being told that they dun need staff right now asked to leave at 11.30am, i foresee a lot of people being pissed off. Heard that they chased quite a lot of people back over at Tanjong Pagar. It is as good as saying, "hey, we were busy. We really need you" and now, "sorry, we are trying to save costs and since it's not busy, u can go" Surely this is not the way you handle your staff! This is definitely a platform for resentment.
From my point, i have always believe that if you want good service, u have to treat your subordinates well. Or else where are you gonna find the motivation for your staff to be at their best when handling calls when you can't even handle this issue well?! This people ought to go for courses and retraining (all garmen plans that eventually dun work. All they have to go for courses again. Just another cycle and they will end up at square 1 again)
Okie, enough of ranting. I just feel injustice for my fellow CSOs. Back to drawing.

8am! Start work lo!
Okie, i admit i am slack, but it's not entirely my fault... I only received 32 calls for the entire yesterday! Compared to the 100+ that i received during the peak GST package period, 32 is really nothing. I was lucky that Weini called me the other day coz i was halfway into Dreamland... And the SUPs (some only la) are still against us reading during our spare time! I really dun understand what the heck they are thinking. Isn't reading or studying a better option than stoning!!!??? Come on, i am juz trying to enrich myself and they are trying to stop me. No wonder the Civil Service sucks. They lacked self-improvement. It's just rules, rules and rules for them. Everything also muz write in. I truly understand some of our citizens plights and why they are so frustrated at times...
Well, at least i did a good deed yesterday. I helped this old lady who sounded quite desperate through the phone regarding a lost cheque. And after i explained everything clearly in detail. she was really grateful and asked for my name. Said that i have really made her day with my help. Wow, that compliment really felt good. At least i know i am doing a good job. See, that's the point i am trying to drive across to the SUPs. As long as one can do his job well, u shouldn't really bother what he is doing during his spare time!
I have been trying very hard to do something for the past 3 days - get up at 5.15 a.m. to run but to no avail.... Haiz... I lack self-dsicipline at times.... Really need a BMT sergeant to come and scream at me or something... I know i have to start training soon or else i can kiss SMU soccer good-bye... I have so many excuses for skipping the run for the past 3 days already. Shit.
Tuesday morning's excuse - When i woke up, i felt that my muscles haven't recovered from Monday's Muay Thai training... The coach made us practise so many kicks and squats sia. Can die.
Wednesday morning - I woke up, got ready and as i was about to go, i heard thunder and saw lightning streaks across the sky. Told myself "Too bad, tomorrow then"
This morning - I woke up and my devil told me, "Siao ar! So early! Go sleep la" At that point, my angel was still asleep i guess.
Shit. I am procrastinating! No!
Okie. 2mr then.
