YAY! The Lions have done it! Singapore has finally lifted the TIGER CUP after a long long wait of 7 years since the Vietnam win in 1998... So happy, so delighted that the Singapore team did not disappoint the Singaporean fans this time around, especially after the criticism they receive before the Tiger Cup where the Lions suffered defeat after defeat... The Lions won the Cup comfortably at home by cruising to a 2nil advantage by halftime at the Kallang Stadium yesterday, much to the delight of some 55,000 fans who sportingly turned up in red to support our Lions... In the end the Lions won 5-2 on aggregate against the Indonesians who were unfortunately without their star player, hence denting their title hopes due to a toothless attack, and coupled with Most Valuable Player Lionel Lewis in goal, the Singapore team were almost untouchable... Wooh... I sure like this kind of winning feeling.... How i wished i was part of the team, or at least present at the stadium had i not worked yesterday... Go Lions Go! Build on this momentum and start winning trophies again, like the good old glory days of the Malaysia Cup...
Started work as the Tiger Beer promoter last Friday... I still remember clearly the first 45minutes... It was totally demoralising coz i didn't even sell a single can of beer... I thought i wasn't suited to sell beer after all... But then i remember the marketing guy telling us to make the job fun ourselves, and most importantly enjoy it... So i started to be more pro-active and started to look around for people to talk to so as to entertain myself and it worked! Heng ar, at least i sold 16 cartons of beer that night, and sales drastically improved during the weekends when there's more shoppers... Luckily i didn't eat snake ( jia zhua ) or slack, coz one of the Asia Pacific Brewary guy came down to do a spot-check... Heng ar... And got this guy that claims to be a businessman who approached me... He told me that he was looking at me doing sales and wondered whether can i work in his company... Walau... And he gave me his namecard somemore and said he wanna meet up with me for a chat... He called me earlier to fix an appointment sia... Dunno whether is it cheat pple one again... He machiam like come and poach me like that...
I was pretty lucky that my location there dun have competitor promoter, in particular Carlsberg... Got this Guinness guy though, but we are both other the same company APB, and we soon joined forces and merged our promotion together.... We actually met before but both of us din noe... He said that i looked familiar and after we chatted, both of us found out that we had a lot of similiarities... And shockingly we looked a little alike such that the auntie who's promtoing WohHup asked whether we are siblings... Haha... He's actually from YJC soccer team, tat's why he saw me before when NY played YJC during the AJC tournament... And he joined NCC during his secondary school years in Anglican High, but he didn't sign on as Clt... And he went to Pulau Tekong too for the Sec2 NCC orienteering competition! He won the 1st prize for the group round though, while i went back home empty-handed... We hit it off almost immediately sia... A pity he's only posted to my location for this 3 days only... I noe he won $22 plus yesterday by betting on Singapore plus 1 and a half goal handicap by betting $100 coz the odds r $1.22 plus only... Haha... He oso quite kok like me...
