sIANz.... This entire week i am on a Supply Assistant Course at Sembawang Camp... Supply Assistant sounds so nice rite, but actually it's merely a refined term for "storeman" or more famously known as SaiKang Warrior! Hahar... It's damn kok lo... Back at my camp, i am the Investigation Clerk, and storeman course has almost nothing to do with it! So kok... Trademark of SAF eh... This course is merely to give me a proper vocation so that i can get my promotion... Hahar...
Anyway, the course, out of 60 participants, about 80% are m*ds and indi******* people lo! Wakow! Kena stunned sia... They are super noisy! And the class reminds me of a Normal Technical Class during lessons sia! Super rowdy! But seriously, without all the noise, laughter, kok jokes, the lessons would be super boring!!! So it's actually a blessing in disguise! Hahar.. Even got 1st and 3rd Guards at the course lo! Damn kok... But the lessons are really really boring eh... So many numbers to remember, like SAF what form is for what usage... So many numbers! Got 1211, 1218A, 1375 etc etc etc... Machiam can buy loads of 4D numbers le...
I was pretty pissed off this morning... I was at Yishun MRT waiting for bus to the camp, and the stupid 169 was filled to the brim! I missed the first bus and when i saw aunties cutting queue and pushing my fellow NSFs back, i felt like pinching her head off! Obviously she doesn't know that if we are late, we are definitely in big shit lo! We will kena extra and confinement one eh... Even if they are late for work, they can apologise, but in army, there's no such thing as "sorry" de! Happened to some of my coursemates lo... 4 of them kena confined till 9pm tonight, and if anyone late tmr, will kena confined till Sunday morning! No joke sia! So pls, civilians, pls have a kind heart and give way to the man in green in the morning... And aboard the super crowded bus (i was standing in a small corner of about 30cm only...), an uncle was freaking pissed off after the bus driver stopped at a bus-stop and stopped moving for like 2minutes! He screamed at the bus-driver in Hokkien "eh, eh sai kia liao buay??? Wa ai zo kang eh" (Can u move, i need to work one eh) and the bus driver said he couldn't move becoz the bus was too packed and the bus' wheels will be auto-locked!!! It was too packed coz some idiots boarded the bus via the rear door!!! Can u believe how stupid some Sporeans ar!!! Really ugly sporeans eh! I felt ashamed!!! The uncle was already boiling and screamed in Hokkien why the bus driver opened the door! And he said just move and dun open any doors! Finally he told the driver "eh, lea buay hua hi lea mai hua la, kan ni na!" ( eh, u not happy u dun drive la) Sorry, i dun noe how to translate kan ni na... Hahar... Wah, the uncle power sia... And he further remarked that bus fares increase, everything increase, but service still the same... This i nodded in agreement... Stupid bus fare gonna increase again... Public transport, as its name imply, is for the public use! Why is it being raised again! And the govt allows it??? Just becoz elections are over? I believe the govt should look into the matter seriously. Operating Costs increase, true, but is it fair to keep passing it to the customers just becoz public transport is inelastic demand (correct rite? my econs almost all returned to Mr Teo le...) Why can't SBS and SMRT earn less? It's serving the people le... Just becoz its privatized? I think it's really not fair... Why not the govt use some of the taxes it collects from the people to subsidize the increase in costs sia... This will show the people that the faith put in PAP is not misplaced...
On my journey back home on bus 159 just now, an old uncle talked to me( wah, today very happening eh...). He said now army is less tough rite? And i told him yar, of course, not as bad as last time... He said we now army good life le, compared to his time... He told me he was the first batch of NSmen, and was trained by the Israeli army... He told me how "shiong" the training was then, and i felt an utmost respect and admiration for this old man... He told me why we need to protect Spore due to the uncertainty around Spore from countries up north and down south-east... Like National Education talk sia... Hahar... And he compared it to the war between Israel and Lebanon, on why Israel need to attack Lebanon first and take the initiative of the war, becoz of its relative small size, just like Spore... Wah, this uncle updated sia... Power... For a moment, he made me feel proud of serving NS... Hahar... Actaully, before i was enlisted, i was quite "on" about the army, NCC for so long, and even went to being an officer then... And during BMT i was also siao on too, everything garang and aiming for OCS... I even attended the talks on signing-on for SAF and honestly, at that point of time, signing-on really crossed my mind... BMT provided the "clean" image of the army ma... I was ignorant then... But when i went to Sispec, my drive vanished! The regulars(not all la, but most) were like CBL wan... CBL is an army term, meaning Cho Bo Lan... And the way the army was run was nothing of the efficient army that we were told... I felt really disappointed and from then on, my view on the army turned from positive to negative... Sign-on? No way, u can suck my straw man... So it was actually a blessing in disguise that i injured my arm then, and now i am also a CBL soldier, just waiting for ORD!!! Hahar... Seriously, i dun give a damn now... I just want my pink IC back!!!
