I saw another ugly side of the civil service today... Yes, the motive was to save costs, but it wasn't entirely ethical. Poor resource management has been a plague for many government agencies, and this recent episode just shows how inept they are in handling their staff.

Seriously, if one is to wake up at 6 plus in the morning, report to work at 8am before being told that they dun need staff right now asked to leave at 11.30am, i foresee a lot of people being pissed off. Heard that they chased quite a lot of people back over at Tanjong Pagar. It is as good as saying, "hey, we were busy. We really need you" and now, "sorry, we are trying to save costs and since it's not busy, u can go" Surely this is not the way you handle your staff! This is definitely a platform for resentment.

From my point, i have always believe that if you want good service, u have to treat your subordinates well. Or else where are you gonna find the motivation for your staff to be at their best when handling calls when you can't even handle this issue well?! This people ought to go for courses and retraining (all garmen plans that eventually dun work. All they have to go for courses again. Just another cycle and they will end up at square 1 again)

Okie, enough of ranting. I just feel injustice for my fellow CSOs. Back to drawing.
